Operation TWELVE (V)
“Twelve miles. The Commando march.”
Overview
The final step in the Green Beret Fitness Number Series is rooted in the All Arms Commando Course (AACC).
As part of Test Week, every candidate must complete a 12-mile (19 km) march in 4 hours, carrying full fighting order including pack, webbing, and weapon. It is not about sprinting. It is about discipline, control, and the ability to cover distance under heavy load while still fit to fight at the end.
Operation TWELVE (V) is built on that tradition. This is the capstone of the Number Series.
Complete it, and you will have faced the longest and heaviest challenge in the GBF Number Series.
The Challenge
Ruck 12 miles (19 km) within 4 hours with the following loads:
CSS (Combat Service Support): 15 kg (33 lbs)
CS (Combat Support): 20 kg (44 lbs)
Combat: 25 kg (55 lbs)
Commando: 36 kg (80 lbs), representing full fighting order plus weapon, completed at night.
Arrive in control, not collapse. The standard is the same across all tiers: cover the distance, hold the discipline.
How to Earn It
Record your ruck with GPS tracking (Strava, Garmin, Coros, etc.) showing distance and time.
Post a photo or short video clip before or after your ruck as proof.
Tag @green_beret_fitness so it can be verified.
⚠️ Important: GBF cannot see or verify attempts from private accounts. Only public tags will be recognized.
What You Get
The official Operation TWELVE (V) patch (available for purchase regardless of tier).

The Fine Print
All four tiers earn the Operation TWELVE (V) patch.

Only Commando finishers across all six challenges qualify for Skull & Dagger eligibility.
Attempt as many times as you need. Only successful, verified completions count.
Train smart. Hydrate. Know your limits. This challenge is on you.
All decisions by GBF are final.
