Situation
Operation SHOOTER is a collaboration between Green Beret Fitness and The SawMill Training Complex. This original event is based on the British Royal Marine Commando Tests including the Endurance Course. Candidates will require all their own equipment.
Mission
Candidates must complete three events on Saturday and three events on Sunday. The scores for each event will be added to get a total score.
Saturday
Event 1. The Endurance Course.
Complete a 4.5 +/- mile multi-terrain run then engage a target with your rifle only.
Score = Total time
Event 2. The Obstacle Course.
Complete the SawMill Obstacle Course then engage a target with your pistol only.
Score = Total time
Event 3. Find Peace in Chaos.
On the whistle, candidates will move forward and have 30 seconds to engage a NATO Figure 12 target.
10 Rounds Standing. 10 Rounds Kneeling. 10 Rounds Prone.
Score = Rounds on Target
Sunday
Event 4. The Slick Run.
Complete a short run, with just pistol, then engage a target with your pistol.
Score = Total time.
Event 5. The Buddy Carry.
Complete a tactical 200m Buddy Carry then engage a target with rifle and pistol.
Score = Total time
Event 6. The Regain.
Complete a Commando Rope Regain then move to the range and engage a target with your rifle.
Score = Total time
*SURPRISE EVENT* This will be announced on the weekend..
Execution
These events are based on the famous Royal Marines Commando Course. Candidates will complete all events (minus event 4) while carrying 21 lbs of kit not including water, food, and firearms.
The courses will be well marked and will consist of off-road, on track, and water obstacles. Candidates should ensure their kit is fully waterproof.
Candidates will start with Event 1, then complete each event in order. Between events, candidates are encouraged to hydrate, rest, and maintain their equipment.
Scoring
There will be a Male and Female winner for each event, and an overall Male and Female winner.

- 0800-0830 Q&A with GBF and The SawMill staff
- 0830-0900 Operation SHOOTER introduction and Saturday brief.

Sunday 10 DEC 23
- 0800 Operation SHOOTER Sunday brief.
- 0830-1200 Morning Activity
- 1200-1300 Lunch
- 1300-1700 Afternoon Activity
- Mapping. Maps are not required for this event.
- Route. The route will be well marked on the day. The route is predominantly on non-paved roads, but some sections are wet, rocky and muddy. There is water on part of the route.
- Dress. Candidates' dress will be a personal choice but they are reminded this is a rural event with sharp bushes and foliage.
- Equipment.
This list is mandatory:
- Backpack or Plate Carrier weighing 21 lbs or more
- Rifle
- Pistol
- Ammunition (no green tip)
- Rifle Cleaning Kit
- Whistle
- Personal First Aid Kit
- Water. There will be water available at the SawMill. Candidates are advised to use hydration bladders for Event 1.
- Medical. A personal medical kit is required by every candidate. GBF Staff must be made aware of any medical conditions prior to starting the event. If any GBF staff deems a candidate is medically unfit to continue, they may be withdrawn from the event for their own safety.
- Accommodation. The SawMill Training Complex has a new on-site accommodation block with 2-man and 4-man rooms with en suite bathrooms. They are offering a great deal to candidates staying Friday and Saturday evening. GBF encourages candidates to make use of this excellent facility with kitchen, gym, and outdoor space.

- Transport. Transport to and from the event will be at candidates' own arrangements. There is lots of on-site parking.
- Weapon. The weapons required will be a rifle (5.56 or 7.62) and a pistol (9mm). If you’re unsure if your weapon is allowed, please email info@GreenBeretFitness.com. Candidates may use any sights they wish but Green BEret Fitness and The SawMill are not responsible for any damage caused by water or impact.
- Targets. The target will be a mix of steel and paper, including NATO Figure 11 target or similar. You will be given the exact target size on the morning of the event.

Refunds - Refunds will be in the form of a GBF voucher for future events. Refunds within 30 days of an event will not be possible.
