Situation

Operation SANDSTORM is an exciting team event set in the beautiful Virginia Beach, running from 8am until about 2pm. Designed to blend teamwork, fun fitness, and the natural elements, this event offers a unique challenge in the sand, on the beach, and in the Atlantic Ocean. Candidates will engage in a variety of activities that test their endurance, strength, and ability to work together, all while enjoying the refreshing coastal environment.

This event emphasizes the importance of teamwork and personal growth. By stepping outside of your comfort zone and tackling the challenging conditions of sand and ocean, you will discover what you're truly capable of. Working closely with your team, you'll experience the power of collective effort and support. Operation SANDSTORM encourages you to embrace discomfort, push your limits, and grow both as an individual and as part of a cohesive unit.

Mission

This is a fun event but candidates still require a backpack but the weight can be between 10-30 lbs (dry weight) depending on their personal fitness level. Working as a team through a series of fun, but uncomfortable situations will be the mission.

Execution

Candidates will meet at the Hillier Ignite Fitness Park, Virginia Beach. At 0730 hours, GBF Staff will give an event brief before answering any questions and starting the event at 0800 hours.

Service Support

Weight. Candidates must have between 10-30 lbs dry (i.e. without food and water) in a backpack. Weight vests or sandbags are not permitted.

Equipment

Mandatory Equipment

• Backpack (waterproof inner-bags)
• Phone (fully charged)
• Phone charger
• Personal First Aid Kit

Dress. Candidates' dress will be a personal choice. You will get wet and sandy.

Water. There will be bottled water at the start point. Candidates should carry enough water to last 2-3 hours.

Rations. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 energy bars and 0.5 liters of water as emergency rations.

Medical. Every candidate requires a personal medical kit. GBF Staff must be made aware of any medical conditions before starting the event.

Transportation. Transport to and from the event will be at the candidate's arrangement. Parking in Oceanfront will usually require pay & display.

The Fine Print

Numbers. Maximum number of candidates 30. Minimum number of candidates 10.

Refunds. Refunds will be in the form of a GBF voucher to use towards future events. Refunds must be requested 30 days before the event start date.

Event Changes. Slight changes to any event including, but not limited to route changes, brief times, start locations, and other details are under the discretion of GBF Staff.
