Situation. Operation HARD TARGET is a single-day tactical competition and is a collaboration between Green Beret Fitness, The SawMill Training Complex, and Born Primitive Tactical.

- You must be physically fit to attend.

- You must be competent and safe with your weapon systems.

Candidates will require all their own equipment and ammunition.

Mission. Candidates must complete all five stages of Operation HARD TARGET in order to be eligible for a prize. Pistols and Rifles will be used.


    1. Fall When Hit.

    2. Fitness Counts.

    3. Rounds Downrange.

    4. Assemble & Assassinate. 

    5. Hard Target.

Execution. Candidates will meet at the SawMill Training Complex.

At 0800 hours, GBF Staff will give an event brief before answering any questions and releasing the candidates to prepare for the start of the event at 0900.

Candidates will require a 25 lbs backpack for this event.

Service Support

Weight. Candidates must carry a minimum of 25 lbs dry (i.e. without food and water) in a backpack. Weight vests or sandbags are not permitted.

Equipment. This list is advised:

Dress. Candidates' dress will be a personal choice. Born Primitive Tactical has the best clothing for this event.

Weapon. The weapons required will be a rifle (5.56 or 7.62) and a pistol (9mm). If you’re unsure if your weapon is allowed, please email Candidates may use any sights they wish but Green Beret Fitness and The SawMill are not responsible for any damage caused by water or impact.

Ammunition. To be updated in August... The more the better!

Targets. The targets will be a mix of steel, wood or paper.

Water. There will be bottled water available. Candidates should carry water with them on each event.

Medical. Every candidate requires a personal medical kit. GBF Staff must be made aware of any medical conditions before starting the event.

Awards - There will be awards / gift cards awarded at the end of the event to those candidates who demonstrate the best attitudes during the weekend.

The Fine Print

Numbers. Maximum number of candidates 50. Minimum number of candidates 20.

Refunds. Refunds will be in the form of a GBF voucher to use towards future events. Refunds must be requested 30 days before the event start date.

Event Changes. Slight changes to any event including, but not limited to route changes, brief times, start locations, and other details are under the discretion of GBF Staff.
