Situation

Operation CONTACT is a collaboration between Green Beret Fitness, The SawMill Training Complex, and Born Primitive Tactical. This event is 40+ hours of arduous, realistic military tactics and training.

- You must be physically fit to attend.

- You must be competent and safe with your weapon systems.

- You must stay on location for the weekend. You can stay in the accommodation, or you can camp / RV.

Candidates will require all their own equipment and ammunition.

Background

Operation CONTACT offers you the opportunity to be part of a military infantry unit conducting pre-deployment training prior to an overseas operation.

This event will place you, the candidate, as a rifleman in a conventional military unit. You may cover situations including:

1. Shooting. A f**k-ton of shooting.
2. Contact drills
3. Break contact drills
4. Fire and Movement (Individual, Pairs, Fire Team Fire)
5. Deliberate Attack
6. Navigation (Day and Night)
7. Patrols (Recce, Standing, Fighting)
8. Harbour drills
9. Rucking / Tabbing / Yomping.
10. Rope Climbing / Rappelling

You will not find a more demanding, more realistic tactical event in the USA.

• Events are based on realistic operational situations.
• You will be taught each drill / tactic before being tested.
• You’ll get wet and dirty and won’t get much sleep.

Mission

Candidates must demonstrate good knowledge of skills taught and good levels of physical fitness.

Execution

Candidates will be taught different skills during the weekend and be tested on them too. There will also be background activities and shooting competitions during your downtime.

Candidates will work as individuals, pairs, and teams of 4 (Fire Team) or 8 (Section). If there is enough time, and your skills are high enough, we will aim to get through a deliberate Platoon Attack as the final event on Sunday.

Candidates must arrive with a backpack carrying 50 lbs. This should be made up of smaller denominations as some events will require the full 50 lbs, others may require 20 lbs, or 30 lbs.

Between events, candidates are encouraged to hydrate, rest, and maintain their equipment.

- Dress. Candidates' dress will be a personal choice but they are reminded this is a rural event with sharp bushes and foliage. Born Primitive Tactical has the best clothing for this event.

- Equipment.

This list is mandatory:

• Backpack (waterproof inner-bags)
• Weight(s) for backpack that is waterproof (total 50 lbs)
• Plate Carrier (with plates) or Body Armour
• Changes of clothes / shoes for 40+ hours.
• Cyalume / ChemLight
• Headlamp (with red light option)
• Towels / Wash Kit
• Rifle and Pistol
• Ammunition (no green tip)
• Rifle Cleaning Kit
• Whistle
• Personal First Aid Kit

- Water. There will be water available at the SawMill. Candidates are advised to use hydration bladders.

- Medical. A personal medical kit is required by every candidate. GBF Staff must be made aware of any medical conditions prior to starting the event. If any GBF staff deems a candidate is medically unfit to continue, they may be withdrawn from the event for their own safety.

- Accommodation. The SawMill Training Complex has a new on-site accommodation block with 4-man rooms with en suite bathrooms. They are offering a great deal to candidates staying Friday and Saturday evening. GBF encourages candidates to make use of this excellent facility with kitchen, gym, and outdoor space.

- Transport. Transport to and from the event will be at candidates' own arrangements. There is plenty of on-site parking.

- Weapon. The weapons required will be a rifle (5.56 or 7.62) and a pistol (9mm). If you’re unsure if your weapon is allowed, please email info@GreenBeretFitness.com.

Candidates may use any sights they wish but Green Beret Fitness and The SawMill are not responsible for any damage caused by water or impact.

- Ammunition. Lots. As much as you can legally carry. Plus smoke grenades!

- Targets. The targets will be a mix of steel, wood or paper.

Weight - candidate’s must have the ability to have 50 lbs in their backpack without water, food, or firearms.

Numbers - Maximum number of candidates 32. Minimum number of candidates 10.

Awards - There will be awards / gift cards awarded at the end of the event to those candidates who demonstrate the best attitudes during the weekend.

Refunds - Refunds will be in the form of a GBF voucher for future events. Refunds within 60 days of an event will not be possible unless you find a replacement.
