Situation
Operation CENTURY is a 100+ mile event consisting of 5 laps of a 21 +/- mile course. The route starts in Idaho and takes you over the border into Wyoming before returning you to Idaho. Operation CENTURY is our longest single event and is a real test of endurance and fitness at altitude and mental strength.
Mission
Candidates must complete the 105 +/- mile route in under 48 hours to pass and earn the GBF Operation CENTURY Dog Tag.
Execution
Candidates will meet at the North Indian Creek Trail Trailhead parking area on Friday 21st July. After 1600hrs, GBF Staff will give an event brief before checking candidates' kits. Candidates are advised to carry paper maps (waterproofed), in addition to their smartphone, for navigation. Once GBF Staff are happy with the candidate's kit, they will be released to begin the route.
Candidates must complete FIVE loops, including Observation Point, to finish the 100+ mile event.
Candidates finishing in under 48 hours will receive the highly sought-after 'GBF Operation CENTURY’ dog tags. The first candidate (or pair) to complete the course will receive a GBF Gold Dog Tag.
IMPORTANT. Each loop must be completed in under 10 hours to progress onto the next loop. Candidates NOT expected to finish in under 48 hours will be withdrawn when it is evident they are going to go over time.
