Situation
Operation BUCKWHEAT is an 11-mile ruck through the beautiful Pisgah National Forest, navigating well-trodden trails. This event serves as a great entry-level challenge for Green Beret Fitness candidates, offering a gentler introduction to rucking while still providing a test of endurance. Although one of our more approachable events, it remains challenging for those looking to race against the clock and push their limits.
Mission
Candidates must carry 20 lbs (dry weight) and complete the 11 +/- mile route in under 6 hours to pass and under 4.5 hours to earn the GBF Operation BUCKWHEAT Dog Tag.
Execution
Candidates will meet at the Coon Tree Picnic Area. At 0730 hours, GBF Staff will give an event brief before answering any questions and releasing the candidates to begin the route at 0800 hours.
